Home Pet Euthanasia in Southampton

Our at-home pet euthanasia offers pets the comfort of a gentle, stress-free departure in the comfort of home and is often less stressful than a trip to the vets.

Arriving at a decision to euthanise your pet
Saying goodbye to a pet is something no owner wants to consider, but when the time arrives consider the well-being of your animals. Factors to consider include:
  • Can your pet still eat, drink, sleep and move around reasonably comfortably?
  • Does he or she respond to your presence and greet you?
  • Does feeding time attract interest?
You are welcome to discuss your concerns with us in an unhurried fashion. We are here to support you throughout.
What happens next?
We will arrange an appropriate time for the vet to visit your home. Upon arrival the vet will explain the process to you so you know what to expect and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. Your pet will be sedated initially to ensure the most pain free and gentle passing without distress. You and your family are welcome to be present during the procedure if you wish, but we understand if you would rather not.
After the euthanasia
Most people choose to have their beloved pet cremated, but you can choose to bury your pet in a dedicated pet cemetery or your garden (subject to legislation). Animals at Home offer an individual pet cremation service, and we can attend along with the vet to take away your pet to be cremated according to your wishes. Do not be afraid to ask for a lock of hair or paw prints as a memento of your pet. Our pet cremation page offers more information.
