Animals at Home support their franchisees at all stages, whether it be through the initial start-up phase, on-going operation and marketing and for those franchisees that decide to leave the business, in selling their franchises.
If you are looking to start an Animals at Home franchise, but would rather take over one that has existing clients and that has already made a name for itself in its area, then there are a very limited number of existing Animals at Home Franchises available for sale.
These are companies set up with existing clients and will continue to receive the ongoing full support from the Animals at Home Head Office.
As all these opportunities are different and at different prices we have the details and will gladly discuss each opportunity with you.
The following are examples of franchises for resale, however if you are interested in a different area, please contact us.
Animals at Home West Herts has been operational since 2007 and is well established in the local area, offering a variety of pet care services. Services currently offered include: dog walking, cat care, small pet care, ambulance transport to vets/animal hospitals, pet cremation etc. and we have regular repeat business with many recommendations and referrals from customers, all of whom have been very satisfied with the service we provide.
Whilst we currently don’t offer a home boarding service for dogs there is huge potential in the area for this, as well as further dog walking and doggy daycare.
I first joined Animals at Home in 2007, having worked in the motor industry for over 30 years. Becoming my own boss and caring for animals was a dream come true for me. I started the business from scratch, gradually building up a regular client base through local advertising, posting leaflets in the area and, most important of all, by word of mouth from satisfied customers. We also enjoy an excellent relationship with local vets who provide regular referrals for pet taxis and other petcare services.
The compact territory covers Watford, Rickmansworth, Bushey, Chorleywood, Kings Langley, Abbots Langley and surrounding villages. Watford in particular is a fast growing town with plenty of potential for expansion of the business.
The only reason for selling is because we are planning to move to the South West of England as soon as my wife retires. Included in the price is a 2007 Renault Kangoo ambulance, air conditioned and fitted with two cages, which would be suitable for use as a second vehicle.
Animals at Home Head Office provides excellent support and training and I am happy to introduce you to my regular clients and their pets, in order to ensure continuity of service and a smooth transition of the business.
We have a very successful Animals at Home Franchise who has built her business within part of her licenced area and is now looking to sell on the licenced area that she is no longer able to concentrate on.
These areas do have some clients and would benefit from someone concentrating their efforts within this area and building the potential further.

After perhaps the most rewarding ten years of our working lives, and me reaching retirement age, we have decided to put the business up for sale. During the last ten years we have grown the business, through our loyal customer base, regular weekly dog walking, repeat vet trips using our Animal Ambulance, cat care/ feeding home visits, and our close links with many major companies to offer pet transportation. We feel that there are still areas of growth both within the range of services we offer and the untapped potential of certain geographical areas. The realistic purchase price reflects the very hard work put in to establish Animals At Home as the number one pet care company in the area, profitable, respected, reliable and any new owner would be able to hit the ground running.

We first became involved with AAH as a ‘host family’, looking after client’s dogs in our home, for the previous owners. When we heard they were looking to retire we were keen to buy this franchise as we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to work for ourselves and with animals!
We took over in February 2016 and continued to service a large and loyal clientele. We have built on this excellent reputation and have grown and continue to attract regular new business through repeat bookings, referrals and on-line advertising, ensuring continuing growth opportunities.
We are passionate about working with this very successful franchise company and are only selling because we have an opportunity to buy another AAH franchise in the south west of the country where we want to move to. Animals at Home Cornwall was established in March 2015 with the aim of offering quality animal care and transport services within the county. We are unique amongst other franchises within the group in that we have a whole county, rather than an area within a county to operate within.
The business has a core base of returning clients who value our reliable and personal one to one service. As of November 2018, we have confirmed bookings in 2019 of 92 days house-sitting and 31 days home boarding and we would want a new owner to honour these commitments. Other bookings will be expected early in 2019 from regular clients and new client enquiries.
We have a mixture of 3 couples and 3 single people who home-board client’s pets, some of whom house-sit as well, and 1 person who exclusively house-sits for us. They are lovely people always ready to help, if you get stretched.
With 6 million visitors to Cornwall every year we get enquiries from holidaymakers who are looking for day and over-night care, so they can visit those places where their dogs are not allowed. There is a plethora of holiday parks, hotels and, cottage owners which could be approached to increase turnover in this area. Also, with such a vast area to look after there are still many vets, animal sanctuary’s and Social Service department’s etc that are still to be visited. Therefore, expansion should be a very achievable goal.
The sale of the franchise offers the new owners the attractive benefit of an established income stream from day one. An excellent opportunity to consolidate the existing respected business, with further expansion prospects possible, if required. This is a life-style changing experience providing the chance of personal job satisfaction, a varied daily work regime, an outdoor life and a never-ending stream of lovable pets to brighten up each day!
A bonus, if you need one, is that the people of Cornwall are the friendliest and most hospitable you will ever meet. Cornwall is beautiful everywhere you look. The beaches are sublime and as I drive around in the ambulance, I find I go the long way around as the scenery is stunning. Eating down here is a national pastime, which some awesome restaurants and farm shops. It has not been easy decision to sell the business, but my mum needs me full time and as you only get one mum, I want to make sure she is properly looked after.
